Double gold for Russia on the second diving day!
Second day of junior diving European championships brought interesting competitions and beautiful dives.
First preliminary competitions were held in the morning: B Boys 1m springboard with 15 participants and B Girls 3m springboard with 25 divers. Only 12 from each earned a place in the finals.
The first gold medal of the day in B Boys 1m springboard competition went to Great Britain’s Tyler Humphreys, who earned 391.60 points. Ukrainian Danylo Konovalov took silver with 382.20 points, and Bram Meulendijks from Netherlands was awarded with a bronze medal by scoring 368.60 points.
In B Girls’ 3m springboard finals the order of the first three divers stayed the same as in the preliminary session while all of them scored higher points than in the morning competition. The winner, Russia’s Elizaveta Kuzina earned 348.70 points with the most difficult dives of the competition. Finland’s Lauren Hallaselkä became second scoring 337.40 points and Julia Deng from Germany finished third with 335.75 points.
The last final of the evening offered beautiful dives in A/B Girls 3m syncro competition. Russian team, Uliana Kliueva and Vitaliia Koroleva, won the event with the strong lead scoring 294.60 points. Maria Papworth and Victoria Vincent earned silver medal for Great Britain with 255.90 points. Finland’s Lauren Hallaselkä took her second medal of the day with Anni Paloheimo, when they took bronze scoring 244.32 points.
